SnowBirds in Florida. Yes, every spring, we see these strange
creatures in the Sunshine State. This year, I happened to get some good
pictures of some that I know!

Mom and Dad stopped by for a few days on their way to Largo.
Of course, I had to cook something. Here they are enjoying (so they
said) a Potato Basil Frittata that I whipped up for brunch. |
|
We had to visit the beach--this is Florida, and we are
famous for our beaches. Here are Mom and Dad at Ponce Inlet Beach. |
|
Now they are getting a bit more serious. Mom and Dad
soaking up a bit of that famous Florida sun at Ponce Inlet. |
|
Dad and I climbed to the top of the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse,
quite the feat, since it's the tallest lighthouse I know of. Here's
Dad, enjoying the view. New Smyrna beach is in the background in this
picture looking to the north-northeast. |
|
About a week later I journeyed to Largo, and we went to one
of the most beautiful beaches in the US.... Caladesi Island, along with
Uncle Frank and Aunt Steph. Here we are getting situated. |
|
Two sisters. Can you see the family resemblance. Again
at Caladesi Island, just north of Clearwater Beach, Florida. Caladesi
Island is one of the most beautiful beaches in Florida. |
|
Mom and Dad at Caladesi Island. Yes, it was a bit windy that
day. But still a beautiful day at the beach. |
|
Frank and Steph at Caladesi Island. Was a beautiful day to
be at the beach! |
|
We saw Dolphins frolicking in the water, both on our trip to
Caladesi Island, and also on our tour of the Intracoastal Waterway the next
day. |
|
Mom and Dad at the pier at John's Pass |
|
Mom on the pier at John's Pass, just south of Madeira Beach. |
|
Mom and Dad on the boat. We took a tour of the
Intracoastal Waterway from John's Pass. |
|
This is how the other half live, as viewed from the boat on
our tour. |
|
I made Stuffed Grilled Pork Chops. Yes, they were a
hit! Here's Mom and Dad and Rick, patiently enduring my picture taking
while they really just want to dig in! |
